Earl's Court → Mrs. Cooke's Private Hotel → Pentab Basic School [Pentecostal Tabernacle]
Mrs. Cooke's Private Hotel "Earl's Court," 18 North Street, Kingston.
- In January-June 1879 the North Street Villa is for rent for a term of years. A mansion, formerly the residence of Simon Magnus, Esq., who died in April 1877. Could be this, as it had 10 bedrooms and a swimming bath.
- In February 1902, Earl's Court is listed for sale.
- In November 1906, Earl's Court is advertising daily with a display ad. Mrs. A.C. deLisser is managing.
- From 1913-1922 (or likely more years) the hotel is advertised as Mrs. Cooke's Private Hotel, "Earl's Court."
- In late 1931, Excelsior High School moves into the building.
- In 1949, Excelsior High School moves out and moves to their new campus.
- Pentab Basic School is now using this address.
- The main building is still be there, the rust colored roof in the left of the Pentecostal Tabernacle complex, but none of the pictures at Google show this old building. Only the newer ones.
- The annex building is to the right, at the foot of Central Ave.
