• In January 1965 the hotel came under owner-management of Mr. Edward Stephenson who recently came out from the United States. The reopening dance took place on April 17, 1965.
• Mentions in the newspaper social column continue until 1974, though declining considerably through the years.
• The March 17, 1974 Gleaner had a classified listing for: Hotel on sea front with a fine beach and view. Owner retiring.
• The hotel became a police barracks and a Type 3 Health clinic.
• In the spring of 1989 the barracks and clinic were removed, and new court houses and court offices were to be built.
