Strawberry Hill Hotel, New Castle Road, Blue Mountains
In an 1794 Great House on a 60-acre coffee plantation, 14 miles from Kingston, at an elevation of 2,740 feet (2,800 feet claimed). Accommodated ten guests. Private baths in all rooms, and a mountain stream fed the tiny swimming pool.

• Open by 1952.
• In 1966 the hotel was reopened by new owners, Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Moffatt of Scotland.
• Still there and very upscale. Now 26 acres.
