- The first Gleaner mention is an ad in June 1931. The hostel is open to approved visitors and residents at moderate terms. Specially suitable for young men in business, every convenience.
- In March 1933, high class boarding accommodation for gentlemen. Every conveniences, terms moderate (Special terms to members).
- In July 1933, superior accommodation for gentlemen, with or without board. (club facilities) Every convenience.
- In August 1937, convenient, comfortable, homely. Excellent cuisine; very reasonable terms. 16 bedrooms. Special low rates to residents.
- In February 1939, contributions being given for a new dining-room, an additional bathroom upstairs, bedrooms painted, comfortable chairs added, and new beds and wash basins in each room with water laid on.
- In 1968, hostel operation was discontinued due to financial constraints.
- Appears to now be a vacant lot.
