Burke's Hotel, Northwest corner of King St and North Parade. The site is now a park and bus terminus.
- The hotel opened on January 23, 1897.
- In June 1897 a fellow partook of a couple of Jubilee cocktails at Burke's Hotel.
- The hotel survived the 1907 earthquake, though damaged.
- A 1910 directory of hotels does not list the Burke's.
- In 1911 it was opened up under new management.
