- In May 1962, the name was changed to the Mayflower Hotel. Managing Director is Mrs. Evelyn Adamson. Mentions of events at the hotel under this name start in the Gleaner.
- On November 20, 1962, the Gleaner reported that a party was held at the hotel to celebrate the opening of the new swimming pool. See clipping.
- On February 28, 1963, the workers vote to join the NWU. See clipping.
- On March 7, 1963, the hotel is listed for sale by auction on March 28, 1963. The hotel consists of 5-1/2 acres of land, hotel building with 12 double and 13 single rooms, dining room, lounge, verandahs, Bar and Annex, Snack Bar, Gift Shop, Beauty Parlour, Manager's Cottage, staff quarters for 20. Filtered swimming pool with changing rooms. All necessary equipment and furnishings.
- Social announcements continue about the hotel. Listed guests are from overseas.
- On March 27, 1963, the auction is postponed until April 19, 1963.
- In August 1963, a Swimpool Club is announced at the hotel. See clipping.
- A Gleaner mention on November 10, 1963 that Gordon Watson, the Australian pianist, was staying at the hotel, is the last mention in the paper.
- Site is now Church Teachers' College, which was established in 1965. The building is still there.
