Mountain Valley Hotel, Old Stony Hill Rd., Kingston
- First Gleaner mention is on Sept 1, 1968, of a party held by the pool.
- Events announced over the years. The hotel was big on event catering.
- In spring of 1980 the hotel was under new management, and periodic ads in the Gleaner started appearing.
- In the summer of 1981 movies were shown on the weekends. Ads stopped after this.
- On May 26, 1987, Herbert (Count) Hobson, the owner, died.
- On December 31, 1987 the hotel held a Grand New Year's Eve Party, with dinner and the Orchid Disco.
- In later years the 50-room hotel suffered from a low occupancy level, and was patronised primarily by Jamaicans visiting from overseas. A few shops were rented out to hairdressers and small business operators.
- In August 2004, developer Hugh Scott acquired the hotel for an upper middle income townhouse development. The existing buildings were torn down.
