Silver Seas Hotel → closed and appears abandoned
Ocho Rios
Silver Seas Hotel.
- Opened for the 1950-1951 season. It was an exterior corridor hotel with 21 double and two single rooms [in the rectangular building]. Each room had a door opening to the beach. Owned and designed by Don Sutton Brown, and managed by Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Brownie.
- In June 1952 it was managed by Mr. Peter Fraser.
- In the summer of 1953 the hotel closed for additions and alterations, but the bar and night club section remained open, with a nightly calypso band.
- In the 1950s they served "Bamboozle" rum punch to guests when they arrived.
- In 1965 the hotel expanded and redecorated. The curved building and pool were added.
- It was open until 2015. The 2015 website in archive.org.
- In the satellite photo their pool, with curved sides, is green with algae. But there is an unofficial website from a booking service. The pool sparkles there. And there are reviews at TripAdvisor. So it is open.
