Gloucester House.
- Open by 1938 as a private hotel, under the management of Noel Aarons.
- In 1948 the hotel was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Sam Peskin.
- Reopened early 1952 with a new 2-story annex. A clipping below shows it before the addition.
- In the early 1950s the hotel was managed by Bud Russell, and Glady, his wife, was the receptionist.
- In 1965 the Peskins sold the hotel to an English Company.
- In 1967 nine luxury rooms were added and suites remodelled. Mr. Sidney Attwood was controlling director.
- In 1971, Pat McGann, his wife Lolita, and her brother, bought the failing hotel and renamed it the Doctor's Cave Beach Hotel.
- In 1983 the hotel had 60 rooms and 20 suites.
- In February 1985, Mrs. McGann wanted to kick the long-time craft vendors off her privately owned Cornwell Beach land that is across from the hotel. [Starting June 1, 1987 she builds a shopping arcade on it.]
- In January 1987 there was a Gleaner advertisement of petition for winding up the financial matters of the hotel, presented by Lolita McGann. See clipping below.
- After Hurricane Gilbert on September 12, 1988, the hotel carried out restoration work immediately, and reopened on October 12th. There were 93 rooms.
- It was last renovated in October 2006.
- In September 2013 the property was listed for sale. Down to 2.5 acres from an original five acres. See ad below.
