Round Hill Hotel, in Hanover. On a 98-acre peninsula, that was part of a sugar, then pineapple plantation.
- In August 1952, Mr. John Pringle and his associates announced final plans for a modern hotel project, known as Round Hill Bluff to cost approximately £300,000. Construction was to start in December. The hotel will be built to similar lines to that of Sunset Lodge. Several homes will be included.
- Then £400,000 was to be spent. On January 8, 1954 some 200 guests attended a "pre-house warming party" given by Noel Coward, one of the shareholders. On January 21st, Round Hill opened for business with 18 cottage owners (more like large villas). There was also a reception building, two large buildings housing the bedroom suites, a two-story building with bar on the ground level and kitchens on the top, with a gangway by which waiters carry food across to the dining room, which is sort of perched on the rocks at that level. Rocks were allowed to come through the floor in spots, and planted with ferns. The view is of beach, sea and palm-lined shore, and bougainvillea trailing down the rocks behind. The dance floor is on the ground level in front of the bar.
- In 1957 the hotel could accommodate 186 guests and was staffed by 173 servants.
- In 1964 the beach was doubled in size, three 75' × 25' swimming pools, an indoor dining room and a patio dining room were added, and the driveway was widened.
- In April 1965, Oh Dad, Poor Dad, Mamma's Hung You in the Closet and I'm Feelin' So Sad was filmed here.
- In 1965 a new terrace and walkway was built.
- In 1976 there were 110 rooms.
- In 1993 the hotel celebrated its 40th birthday anniversary, with a formal gala for 500 guests.
- By 1997, & Villas was added to the name.
- In 2008, the hotel had 110 acres, with 36 rooms in the Pineapple House Hotel (designed by Ralph Lauren), and 27 individually owned villas with suites. Still there.
