Tryall Hotel, Sandy Bay, Hanover.
- Former 1834 Georgian Manor great house was converted by 1935 to a hotel with 24 guest rooms (10 with private bath) - running water in every room. Electric lights.
- By 1957 there was a 5-hole approach golf course (presumably par 3 holes).
- In 1959 it became The Tryall Club, a private club. That year the first villas were added, and the full golf course was laid out.
- In 1964 eight lanai suites and two two-bedroom cottage were added, and a bar-cafeteria was built on the beach.
- In October 1969, about 130 hotel workers, golf caddies and agricultural workers went on strike in sympathy with the dismissal of Mr. Egbert Anderson (the chief National Workers Union delegate) with no reason given.
- Most villas were built in the 1970s. (There were 53 in 1976.) The villas now dot the landscaped lawns and gardens of the estate, and it is only villas now.
- In 1997 Edward 'Ted' Ruddock took over as managing director. Under his direction the hotel expanded its facilities for family vacationers and the golf course was substantially upgraded. The historic Great House was elegantly refurbished, the beach Patio Restaurant and Almond Tree Bar were renovated, the beach upgraded, and more than US$500,000 invested in improving water quality. Four underpasses were constructed under the highway. Over his tenure the hotel went from 56 homes and 42 hotel rooms to 72 upscale villas and 13 great house suites.
- In 2007 Edward Ruddock retired.
